Steering and Suspension Are Safety Parts

Your suspension keeps the tires on the road and your steering keeps the car going where you point it. When parts wear, it starts as a noise or a vague feel in the wheel and ends with a car that doesn't stop straight or handle a pothole well. Call (302) 803-3906 if something feels off.

Kent County roads are hard on front ends. We put the car on the lift, check every joint and bushing, and show you what's loose, what's worn and what can wait.

What We Check and Replace

The parts that wear, and what they feel like when they do.

01

Shocks and Struts

A car that bounces after a bump, dives under braking or leans hard in turns has tired shocks or struts.

02

Ball Joints

A clunk from the front end over bumps or while turning. Worn ball joints are a safety problem, not just a noise.

03

Tie Rod Ends

Loose steering, a wheel that wanders on the highway, or uneven wear on the edges of the front tires.

04

Control Arms and Bushings

Rubber bushings crack with age and let the suspension shift, which shows up as clunks and pulling.

05

Sway Bar Links

A rattle or knock over small bumps at low speed is often a worn sway bar link, one of the cheaper fixes on the list.

06

Power Steering

Heavy steering, whining when you turn, or fluid leaks point to the pump, rack or hoses.

How a Front-End Check Works Here

  1. 01

    Tell Us What You Feel

Where the noise comes from, when it happens, and how long it has been going on.

  2. 02

    Lift Inspection

We check each joint, bushing and shock for play, leaks and wear, and look at your tire wear pattern for clues.

  3. 03

    Repair and Road Test

Once you approve the work, we replace the worn parts and road test it. After front-end parts are replaced, an alignment is usually needed; we'll tell you if yours does.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need new shocks or struts?
Push down hard on a corner of the car and let go. If it keeps bouncing, or you see oil on the shock body, they are worn. Nose-diving when you brake and leaning in turns are other signs.
Why is my car pulling to one side?
It can be alignment, tire pressure, a sticking brake caliper, or worn suspension parts. We check all of them rather than guessing, because an alignment will not fix a worn part.
Do I need an alignment after suspension work?
Usually, yes. Replacing tie rods, control arms or struts changes the geometry. Skipping the alignment wears out tires quickly.
Is a clunking noise dangerous?
It depends on the part. A sway bar link is mostly an annoyance; a worn ball joint can separate. Have any new clunk checked soon so you know which one you have.
